How to play

Completed Shingoki puzzle
We publish 4 Shingoki puzzles every day with a choice of an Easy, Medium, Hard and a bonus mixed puzzle every day!
This is an example of a completed Shingoki puzzle. The aim is to draw single loop around the grid with these rules:
  1. The loop must pass through the white circles in a straight line.
  2. The loop must pass through the black circles at a right-angle.
  3. The value in the circle tells you the sum of the length of the two lines leaving the circle.
You can play by left-clicking or tapping (for touch devices) on a grid line to insert a line at that location.
Left-clicking again will change that grid line in to a cross.
Left-clicking again will return the grid line in to it original unknown state.
This is an example of a starting Shingoki grid.
The best place to start with a Shingoki grid is to look at the edge of the puzzle - we can look at the '3' circle on the left edge of this puzzle and conclude that there must be a vertical line out from the top and bottom of this circle. This gives us 2 lines leaving this circle, but we know we need 3 altogether; we don't know where this 3rd line will go yet.
We can also look at the black circle on the top edge of this puzzle. The loop must turn at this clue, the only way we can satisfy this requirement is if the loop comes down vertically out of this clue. We don't know if the loop continues left or right yet.
There are other clues on the edge of this puzzle and we can apply similar reasoning to all of them.
